In an April 5, 2004 e-mail from Steven Leonard of California American Water (Cal-Am) to MPWMD General Manager Fran Farina (Exhibit 16-L in Attachment 1), Mr. Leonard requested a meeting with the District to better understand the Mitigation Program in order to respond to Ms. Farina’s March 23, 2004 letter to him (Exhibit 16-K in Attachment 1).  District staff (Andy Bell and Joe Oliver) met with Mr. Leonard, Charley Kemp, and Tom Peterson on April 23, 2004 and provided background on the Mitigation Program, its purpose, and its funding.  Mr. Leonard indicated that he may provide a further response to Ms. Farina’s March 23, 2004 letter.  As of the date of preparation of this staff note, no additional communication has been received from Cal-Am on this matter.
